2013 Pantone’s Color of the Year: Emerald

 

I love when Pantone comes out with the color for the year as well as the different colors for each season. Emerald is the popular and most daring choice this season. According to Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, green is the most abundant hue in nature. The human eye actually sees more of it than any other color in the spectrum.

I have to say I admire the boldness of emerald and although my living room is painted a soft shade of green I don’t think I would be able to have such a bold color in my house. I am more of a “alloy” kind of girl. What about you?

Red and white

                                     Can you believe that Christmas is only six days away?

That’s less than a week!

 

I love how Christmas decor can be so customized. How you do not have to stick to the traditional red and green.

 

Today I wanted to show you a red and white inspiration that reminds me both of Christmas and of course Valentine’s Day, that is just around the corner :)

Black and red

As I mentioned in my last post we were invited to a family wedding last weekend. The main color of the wedding was red. Red paired with black, white, and silver. I loved the drama that the color red was creating. That’s why I came home and begun my search to find interiors associated with those colors.

 

Black and White

It’s been a while since my husband and I dressed up for an event. I believe it was three years ago. Well, we get to put on our nice attire again since we are going to a wedding on Saturday. How exciting! The wedding is a black tie affair but I believe the colors of the wedding are black and red. At least that’s the colors of the invitation. I will have to check. The invitation is currently buried somewhere underneath a pile of paper on my dining room table.

The color black is often seen as a color of sophistication, as in 'the little black dress', or 'the black tie event'. Affluent and success orientated women often choose black as it can give an impression of elegance, sophistication and confidence.

 

 

This is a little creepy for me, but hey!

Although I love the black and white combination I do not ever see myself living in the place decorated with those colors. I will make sure to post few photos of the wedding next week.
