my husband, then boyfriend, came home from being away for a year. I was suppose to pick him up, but someone had other plans for me….
At 6am on that Friday I had just left Starbucks with my white chocolate mocha that was too hot to drink . I was just on the on-ramp to get on the freeway. The metered light was on. I was in line waiting for my turn. When all of a sudden something happened.
My car was hit from behind. The driver of an medium size SUV was on his cell and somehow didn’t see that we are all stopped at the metered light.
The only way to get out of my car was through the window.
I was bleeding from my head.
I was really mad that there was a lot of blood on my favorite pair of shoes.
(no worries I was able to save them)
I was mad that I never got a sip of that yummy white chocolate mocha.
But I was VERY THANKFULL TO BE ALIVE.
I still am to this day. Thankful to be alive. Thankful that I only had to have staples put on my head to close up the wound. Thankful that with three years of physical therapy (having to go occasionally now to the chiropractor) my back is doing okay for the most part. I am Thankful that I do not have any permanent visible damage to my body.
I am Thankful to be Alive.
We do not have to wait for Thanksgiving to be thankful for something.
P.S. I am working on my Pinterest post that should be up soon. Hopefully I didn’t scar you for life with the photos above.
