Orange

Orange is red brought nearer to humanity by yellow." -- Wassily Kandinsky
I honor of Halloween today I feel that we should look at the color orange.

Orange is a very strong color and its either “love it” or “hate it” kind of color. Me…I am in between. I can take orange in very small doses. Orange represents warmth and energy. As a warm color orange is a stimulant — stimulating the emotions and even the appetite.

Orange brings up images of autumn leaves, pumpkins, and (in combination with Black) Halloween. It represents the changing seasons.

The color orange relates to social communication, stimulating two way conversations. A warm and inviting color, it is both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets people thinking and talking! via

Being Halloween I cannot leave you with a photo of my darling daughter while out treat-or-treating tonight. She was dressed as the little Red Riding Hood. If you look closer she even had her finger nails painted.

Halloween Decor

Halloween is only days away and I have not decorated yet. To be quite honest I am not sure if I would be decorating this year. See, when I got home we got infested with ants. It happens every year around this time. I guess that what happens when you live right next to a big nature park and an orchard. Thankfully the HOA is having a pest company take care of the problem. That with other things going on in my life it has been very hard to blog. I also want to apologize to all of the bloggers who have left me sweet comments and I am yet to visit their blogs. Thank you and I will try to catch up on things this weekend.

Another reason why I might not be decorating for Halloween is because my mind is already set for Christmas! I even found my Christmas present:

Anyways back to Halloween…I know that some people go all out and some like me will most likely have a thing or two and call it good. My intentions were to go all out this year since we didn’t really decorated last year (my husband was laid off two weeks before Halloween so no one felt like celebrating, but he got a job a month later (for about a month) so we had gone all out for Christmas)

I looked for inspiration everywhere and I here are few of my favorite ones:

House Tour: A Cinema Inspiration

House Beautiful never disappoints! I loved their cover for the November issue. I love the colors of the room. They fit fall very well. The decor of this condo was designed by Heather Moore and inspired by the movie, Factory Girl. The designer “wanted the apartment to have a midcentury modern vibe- pieces by Hans Wegner, Raymond Loewy, Eero Aarnio – along with an eclectic contemporary art collection…”

Let’s take a look at the apartment!

Merritt side table is grained like wood but made of metal.

Such a drama added at night. Would you agree? I love that painting done by James Nares as well. It gives the room an organic feel.

Isn’t this light gorgeous when lit?
