Five Question Friday

I am really having fun with this one. Let’s see how long I will remember to do with.

1. What do you do when you are really upset to calm yourself down?

I usually call my mom if I am really upset. I talk it out with her. I have always been very close with my family but ever since I moved away I have become even closer with my mom.

2. Do you go all out for V-day or is it just another day?

Just another day. Our official real date as a couple was on Valentine’s day and we felt very uncomfortable. Neither my husband or I believe in this holiday. We do however introduced it to our daughter with crafts, sweets, decorations.

3. Are you more or less productive when Hubs is away?

More. I love hanging out with my husband so I usually don’t get anything done when he is around. The only problem is that I get less sleep when he is away/ working late because I am one of those people who doesn’t like being in the house by themselves (my daughter doesn’t count…she relies on me)  at night. So when he use to work nights I would go to bed around 3-4am. What can I say I am skarity cat. No worries I  we are well protected.

4. What is your favorite time of day and why?

This one is a hard one. I love mornings because I get to sit down with my daughter eat breakfast no rushing just hanging out. Mornings are usually our time to go to the park, the local craft store, the library, everyday is different. I love afternoons because of nap time. I love taking naps ever since my daughter was born. (it doesn’t happen all the time for me though, I usually eat or read during nap time) I love evenings because it’s either family time or me time depending on my mood and how much I have to get done.

5. What is your go to karaoke song?

Believe it or not I don’t karaoke but I do love to sing even if I can’t  carry a tune. Other than singing my all time favorite “You are my sunshine” I always get so happy when I hear “Friends in low places” by Garth Brooks. My husband, some of our friends and I sang it at my wedding. So much fun. Oh, wait I love “Sweet Home Alabama”! Both the song and the movie!

How about you? Do you have a go to karaoke song?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Pinterest your Friday

It is Friday again. I am so looking forward to the weekend. I had my jaw lock up last weekend and hasn’t been a splendid week. Not that the weekend is here I can relax and have my husband watch the kid for a little bit. Plus finally I will be able to finish two small projects I have been working on. Yeah!

Party ideas for a 30th' birthday

This year is a special year when it comes to birthdays. My husband and I are both turning 30. My daughter is turning 3. Most importantly my daughter and I are having our golden birthdays. She is turning 3 on the 3rd of August and I am turning 30 on the 30th of April. See very exciting.

I know for a fact we are having a birthday party for my daughter. I found a great theme for her birthday, now I just have to start working on it. My husband really wanted to take me to New York for our birthdays since they are only a month apart but I don’t think that’s in the budget.

So I have been thinking about having a party, for him at least. What he wants is a pig roast at my cousin’s house surrounded by close family and few friends. Not sure if that is going to happen since my cousin lives in Seattle, WA but you never know. I love visiting my family and this is a great excuse to see them again.

Now to be quite honest I am not a big fan of roasted pig…I would prefer to eat steak or ribs or barbequed chicken…my husband is a very good cook and very good barbequer…is that even a word?

Moving on forward if we can’t got to Seattle and have a pig roast maybe we can have a different kind of party here. I found some really cool ideas online but of course we can always make a theme with stuff he likes.

I already know which one my husband is going to like the most. Now I just have to coordinate it and it will be good to go.

Wednesday Home Tour: Brooke Shields

Believe it or not I have never seen a single movie with Brooke Shield in it. I know that she is a famous actress that last year joined the cast of The Addams Family on Broadway. Now what I know for sure is that I fell in love with her house especially her living room with the heart artwork that was on the cover of the current issue of Architectural Digest.

The colors of the room are calming, relaxing, elegant. I love the natural material rug. The pop of color. One thing that I don’t like is the black pendant over the coffee table. It reminds me of a security camera at the grocery store. Hopefully I don’t sound too crazy over here.

To see more of Mrs. Shield’s home you will have to check out the current issue of Architectural Digest.

Happy Wednesday!

Linky Follower Blog Hop

Lately I have been debating if I should move my blog over to Word Press. I have been with Blogger since I started blogging three years ago and I have been happy for the most part. Now that I am thinking of taking blogging more seriously I am finding out that Word Press has a lot more options and a lot more tools to make blogging more organized.
Until I decide if I should do the switch I decided to join Linky Follower since GFC might be done soon even for Blogger. I know it’s not about the numbers but about  finding new friends.
I have decided to join in a linky blog hop.
Here are the rules:
1. Please follow me!
2. Pease visit at least 5 other blogs and follow then through linky follower!

Valentine’s Day treats

One thing I love about any holiday is the food especially the sweet treats. So far I haven’t made any sweets since Christmas except brownies which doesn’t really count. Last weekend while my husband was working my daughter and I made Valentine’s, this weekend I am thinking of some cupcakes. Michael's have some cute heart sprinkles that I just bought.

Then on Valentine’s day we can make something special like heart pancakes or heart shaped lunch.

Five Question Fridays

I have decided to join a little Friday link party that is all about the person behind the blog. Every Friday (well , Thursday night) a set of five questions are posted here. I chose to participate or not. Then I answer them as truthfully as I can. I figured this will give you a change to get to know me.

1. How often do you shave your legs in the winter?

Well it all depends on where I am. If I am in Seattle, WA I do it once a week. It is way to cold there and I really do not like the feeling of the little hairs growing back up during a cold weather. If I am home (So Cal) I do it about two times a week. You never know when you will need to wear shorts. Today is a shorts day here.

2. Valentine's Day cards for your spouse: funny or romantic?

None. We do not give each other cards. I think we did it once or twice but never stuck.

3. What are you most looking forward to about spring?

Fresh flowers, longer and warmer days. My birthday.

4. What's your favorite way to pamper yourself?

I don’t really pamper myself. My husband has given me permission (it’s not like I need it) to do or get whatever I please (of course to an extend). Last year I went a couple of times to a spa for facials and spend an enormous amount of money on shoes. Then again if I ever feel like I need a brake I just take off to visit my family for undecided amount of time.

5. Does your tax return go into savings or do you spend it instantly?

Every year is different. If we get lucky to get a tax refund in the past we have used it to pay debt and other times  we have put it right into savings. This year I am not sure if we will get a tax refund. Have my finger crossed.

Feel free to share your answers with me. Have a great weekend!

The Photo Challenge Check up

So originally I had intentions to publish this post on Monday.

Monday came and went.

Then Tuesday…and Wednesday.

I know I am starting to use my daughter as an excuse but it is amazing how much energy a 2.6 years old can have. She has we running crazy after her all day long right until bedtime, which for her is not until 10pm. Yes, long days!

Moving on…

I have decided to make Monday my photo challenge check up.

Day 1: Your view today

I chose my daughter who I get to see first thing in the morning and last thing at night

Day 2: Words

I saw this sign at my local decor store, very inspirational.

Day 3: Hands

We were having a mall date with my daughter and decided to stop at the jewelry store for a quick look. This is what she wants

Day 4: A Stranger

Couldn’t get myself to snap a photo of a stranger.

Day 5: 10am

We created Valentine’s…all eight of them

So far I have had a lot of fun with this because I get to be creative, don’t have to think too much about it and just think about the small things in our daily lives.

Feel free to join in at any time.
