Kisses Wood Sign

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and we are slowly getting ready for the holiday. Ever since I started  Sawyer Leigh Boutique I have met some wonderful people. One of them is Morgan, she is a local photographer who has ordered numerous signs from me to use as her little stand props. Here is a sneak peak I had shared on Sawyer Leigh's Instagram feed.

I love sneak peaks! Anyways I know you are not here to see that, right! So here it is the whole sign!

Haha, don't look at the scuffed up wall that I placed the sign for a quick photo! My kids are tough on our walls especially my little one. Plus I think we are going to be repainting the house very soon. I am getting tired of the green.

My older daughter love the sign so much that we are going to be making one for us very soon to leave on the mantle.

Olaf Valentine

I am guessing you have heard about the movie “Frozen”. Maybe you might have seen it once or twice? Well, my daughter is obsessed with the movie and the characters and the music. For the first time is a very long time I had my act together and was able to spend a little more time with her on her school Valentines so we decided to create Olaf, the cute little snowman.

My daughter was so excited that I forgot to take a better photo of the finished product. Here she is with her Valentines on our way to school. (by the way I am loving our So Cal winter).

The printable was easy to create using free digital paper that I downloaded as the background and then using picmokey to create the rest. I love how easy is to create so many custom looking printables on picmonkey.

Olaf Valentine

The supply list was: big marshmallows for the body, small marshmallows for the feet, left over Halloween candy for the nose, stick pretzels for the arms and small chocolate chips for the eyes and the buttons.

These Valentines where so popular with her class that most of the kids eat “Olaf” before even getting a chance to make him. Because of the popularity of the movie, my daughter has requested a Frozen party. Hmm! Maybe, just maybe!

Pinterest your Friday

Hello and welcome to another edition of “Pinterest your Friday”. I am still slowly putting up our Valentine’s Day decorations (hopefully I will have all of them done by end of the weekend) and have been doing lots of small Valentine theme crafts with my little daughter.

Since Valentine’s Day is next Thursday I decided to make this a special “Pinterest your Friday” edition. Here are some of my Valentine's Day pins that  you might find inspiring even at the last minute.

Valentine’s Day treats

One thing I love about any holiday is the food especially the sweet treats. So far I haven’t made any sweets since Christmas except brownies which doesn’t really count. Last weekend while my husband was working my daughter and I made Valentine’s, this weekend I am thinking of some cupcakes. Michael's have some cute heart sprinkles that I just bought.

Then on Valentine’s day we can make something special like heart pancakes or heart shaped lunch.

Valentine’s Day Parties

Would you like to know a secret? I am not a very big fan of Valentine’s Day. It is not bitterness. I just always felt like it is a made up holiday for retailers to make more money. (Keep in mind, I didn’t have this holiday growing up. It was something new to me when I came here during high school). I feel that as a woman and a mother we should be able to get flowers on any random day, not just on Valentine’s day. One year my husband, then boyfriend, sent me flowers on the 15th, the 16th, and 17th of February since he knew how much I didn’t like Valentine’s Day. Now he buys me flowers at random times just to say “I love you!”

Now that I am a mom I feel that as a good mom I should introduce my daughter to all the popular holidays that are out there and I am starting to like Valentine’s Day just a little bit. Enough that I have been working on Valentine’s Day crafts and printing out free printables all weekend.

So long story short I find myself pinning things that are all about Valentine’s Day. I even find myself wanting to throw a Valentine’s day party. Maybe next year but in the mean time here are few parties I found online that caught my eye.

Free Valentine’s Day Printables Round up

Let’s be honest! There are a lot of talented ladies that share their talent with the rest of us when it comes to printables. The best part it is free. I am currently using a couple of free Valentine’s day printables in my house that I am thinking of using for the rest of the year.
