Can-struction

Every year in the month of September one of the local malls hosts the “Festival of Children”. Canstruction®, a charity committed to ending world hunger, is using 'one can' as a catalyst for change. Over 500,00 Orange County residents are food insecure. Orange County Canstruction® occurs every September in conjunction with the Festival of Children at South Coast Plaza.

What is canstruction®?

An international community service project by the design & construction industry to benefit local food banks where teams of architects, engineers, designers, contractors and/or those professionals mentoring students, associations or business compete by designing and building structures made entirely out of canned foods. via

The people who construct the can sculptures have 12 hours to build them, so time is of the essence. Here are few of this year’s creations.
