I love receiving magazines and gushing over the pretty interiors inside them. One of the homes that caught my eye was this Long Island cottage turned into a Swedish-inspired beauty by designer David Netto.
“The smaller the room, the more drama you need,” Netto says. “The Svenskt Tenn Hawaii fabric by Jesef Frank is so bold, it creates a little world within the bed alcove. Guests feel like they’re sleeping in an enchanted garden.”
I have to leave in a couple of days on a business trip to Seattle which is leaving me with no time to get anything done around the house such as decorating for fall. I will be doing this when I get home. Well just because I am not yet decorating for fall doesn’t mean that I cannot look for inspiration.
I long for a normal fireplace. Mine is a really weird one. One of these days I will take a photo and show you. I wonder what the builder was thinking when building this place. Oh, yeah, build quick and sell fast, who cares about design!
But do not fret if you do not have a fireplace there is always a few other ways to decorate for the season: a shelf, a buffet, a side table.
See now no one has an excuse for not decorating for fall!

Fall is only few days away and I know many of you have probably already decorated the house and porch (if you have one) for the upcoming season. Me, I haven’t even started (yet). It is still way to hot to think of fall but do not get me wrong fall is one of my favorite seasons.

Ummm, wasn’t it just Monday! Even though I have been stuck at home all week, thanks to my daughter who got the chicken pox, this week has gone by pretty quick. This week I am doing a design inspiration since I am too tired to even think about crafting or food or anything in this matter. The title says it all. What can’t you do with burlap? I know, I know burlap is an inexpensive way to give texture to a room, to create a brown Christmas, to create a country feel wedding. Lately, maybe because fall is coming, I have been in love with all things burlap (among other things).
