Blank

I haven’t even had the blog for a month and I am drawing a blank. Why do you ask? Well, it’s not that I do not know what to write about its about time slipping out of my hands so fast that I just realized today is Thursday. I haven’t posted anything in few days. I know that I shouldn’t be beating myself up over this but after all I love blogging and sharing what I find with you.

The main problem these past few weeks is that it has been the cold, both my daughter and I are suffering from it. It has been on and off like this for the past few months. It is exhausting after a while. No matter what we do the cold comes back.

Another reason why the blog has been somewhat deserted is because of the start up of my design business. I am currently writing a post about it and should be up by the end of the weekend.

I need your honest opinion. To make it a little easier and more organized I am thinking of making certain days a theme day, for example Mondays are currently color days. I am thinking of making Thursdays a travel day and Friday a party theme day. I was also thinking of maybe adding “quote of the week”. Of course with time hopefully everything will be able to fall in place. Everything is work in progress and no one was ever born knowing it all.  What do you think? Any suggestions, comments? Would you like to see anything special on the blog? I would love to hear from you.

Hello Sunshine!

All last week was beautiful here is Southern California, but for some reason when the weekend came along clouds settled in and the sun was gone. Well, they are gone today. Beautiful sunny warm weather! I love it! I am an outdoor type of person but I am not a very big fan of the cold or in that matter the really hot weather.
Yellow is a primary warm color. Yellow is the color of optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. The golden shades of yellow can promote positive future. Yellow sparks creativity and activates the memory  as well as communication.

Here are some interesting facts about yellow:
  • can increase the metabolism
  • even though it promotes optimist, it can make us feel angry and frustrated depending on the shade of yellow used
  • it is a non-emotional color: it relates to the head not the heart
I love this entryway! Greeting your guests with a bold wallpaper and bright yellow accents is a great way to introduce them to your style and personality. Using wallpaper in an entryway also allows you to make a big statement in a small space.

Happy April Fool’s Day!

I love this holiday. I have done some pretty mean (emotionally) pranks in the past. Now a days I would use any holiday to make cupcakes and eat them. Here are some examples of the fake food you can showcase today that I took from “Hello, Cupcake!”. This book is fantastic for those who love to decorate cupcakes, so many themes and gives you full instructions on how to make them.

Traditional Bulgarian Pottery

If you were to visit Bulgaria and go to a very traditional Bulgarian restaurant you would most likely eat the food off traditional Bulgarian pottery dishes. You can see traditional Bulgarian pottery sold everywhere. I have a few pieces at home that I treasure very much. Actually when I was researching about this post I found a company in the states that imports a few pottery sets that I am thinking I might get a few plates to have around the house. The pattern is so beautiful it can be used for decorating, maybe hang some of the plates on a wall.

Here are some of the designs that Bulgar USA offers on their website.

Here are a few more traditional pieces:

I really love the colors used by Bulgar USA. What do you think? Would you ever use this pottery for decorating?

If you are feeling adventures here is a website I found with Bulgarian recipes.
