Today is Dr. Seuss birthday and it’s also National Read Across America day. Everyone is celebrating…PBS kids has a Cat in the Hat marathon today…Pottery Barn Kids is having a Dr. Seuss day in their stores all weekend…”The Lorax” is opening in theaters today…We will be having a small celebration of our own by reading our favorite Dr. Seuss book, some crafts and maybe some yummy snacks.
I am yet to meet a person who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss books. Dr. Seuss is an American classic. Did you know that Dr. Seuss real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel? The pen names that he used were Dr. Seuss, Theo LeSieg (his last name spelled backwards) even Rosetta Stone.
His most celebrated books include the bestselling Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Horton Hatches the Egg, Horton Hears a Who!, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!. source
My daughter loves hanging out at Pottery Barn Kids. After all there is pretty decor there. There are lots of toys. The store always has a holiday section. To be quite honest I am not sure when this collection came to the store but I love it. Madison and I had so much fun looking at the pictures on the sheets and naming each item.

A cute place setting

Now if you lived in Florida how cool would be to visit Seuss Landing in Orlando
My daughter has a such fondness for Dr. Seuss books. We have been reading them to her since she was 6 months old. Her favorites are “Cat in the Hat” and “One fish Two fish Red fish Blue Fish” (she also loves watching “Cat in Hat knows all about that on PBS). While browsing for ideas on how to celebrate Dr. Seuss day Madison kept on looking over my shoulder saying “is it for my birthday?” so we decided that the theme for her birthday this year will be ….
Cat in the Hat.
I am very excited. The planning has already begun!
These are ADORABLE! I especially love the "Oh The Places You'll Go" nursery. That's one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books. Thanks for sharing!
