Gray is the perfect neutral and is often used as a background color. Gray is considered to be the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is a compromise between the extremes of black and white. The color gray is conservative and carries authority, some even perceive the color as classic.
An interesting fact is that the human eye can distinguish about 500 shades of gray. Have you noticed that we see gray in the form of silver on our flatware, our jewelry or of course the saying “when I am old and gray”?
