Easter

I have been debating if I should share with you our Easter celebration. It is not that I do not like sharing its that we usually have about three Easter celebrations each year – an Easter/Spring Party, the Catholic Easter and Christian (Eastern/Greek Orthodox) Easter. Living in America during Easter time was a little difficult one since before having my daughter I didn’t celebrated the Catholic Easter just mine. So, so far this year we have had the annual Easter/Spring party and the Catholic Easter.

Let’s start with the Easter party- A couple of weeks ago we attended an Ester party. It was fun and brief since Madison doesn’t believe in going to public restrooms for #2. Yeah! Now we have to bring a potty with us in the car for just in case. While at the party Madison could care less about the Easter bunny who was trying his hardest to entertain the kids…Well, he was trying to compete with a princess who was a hit with both girls and boys. Madison was fascinated with Aurora and that they were wearing the same color dress. The princess did a great job with the kids by taking her time each one (no Disneyland hassle here).

Then of course was the egg hunt that didn’t go so well. It took Madison a minute to realize that she need to pick up the eggs and put them in her basket. I think she only picked up four eggs in total. Sadly, they were filled with jelly beans, which Madison doesn’t like so she threw them away. Either way she seemed to have fun and couldn’t stop talking about the princess.

Now on to Easter. Well, it didn’t go as planned. Plans changed at the very last minute and we found ourselves without plans but doing chores. While Ryan and I got up at 6am to do chores, Madison had a late lazy morning. We had to meet up with Ryan later in the day to give Madison her Easter basket. We did a fast egg hunt but she was more interested in the chocolate she received in her basket and cleaning the pool. (my husband was right next to her when I took the photo)

We are celebrating my Easter( Christian or Greek/Eastern Orthodox) this Sunday so we will be coloring eggs this Saturday and other Easter activities on Sunday. I guess that’s what you get when you two religious  in one roof. Even though Madison is baptized Christian I would like her to celebrate both Easters and not be left out as school.
